INSTITUTE OF BATYRS IN TRADITIONAL KAZAKH SOCIETY

Abstract

In the history of each nation there are structures that characterize the specifics of its development. One of the features defining the national identity of the Kazakh people is the institute of batyrs.As a result of the nomadic lifestyle of the traditional Kazakh society, the need to protect against external threats, the institute of batyrs was formed.The formation of the institute of batyrs in the Kazakh steppe began in the early Middle Ages and went through a long way of development. Namely, firstly, the heroes were formed in the early Middle Ages, under the Turkic khaganates; secondly, he flourished in the XVIII and the first half of the XIX centuries; thirdly, under the influence of the Russian colonial administration, measures were taken to destroy the institute of batyrs.The protection of the state from external enemies has become the main task of the batyrs. We can definitely say that in a certain period he became a bulwark of unity, independence of his country and people.Thanks to the study of the history of the Batyr Institute, the discovery of new facts, it becomes clear that this contributes to strengthening the independence of our country.
