The Soviet national policy in the first decade of the post-Stalin period is of considerable interest. In 1953, within the framework of Khrushchev's «thaw», the process of rehabilitation of the «punished» peoples began and the question of their return to their former places of residence was raised.
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR N.S. Khrushchev began to search for new approaches to national policy. However, the lack of a mechanism for the legal restoration of the liquidated autonomies gave rise to new hotbeds of latent tension. This article reveals the essence and specific features of national policy in the years of «developed socialism» and the period of perestroika. The purpose of the study is to analyze the specific features of national policy during the years of «developed socialism» and the period of perestroika, to identify the features of national policy in Uzbekistan; to reveal the essence of national policy during the years of «developed socialism» on the example of national minorities of Uzbekistan.
