INTERETHNIC RELATIONS IN THE WESTERN REGION OF KAZAKHSTAN

The border areas of the West Kazakhstan region are a unique socio-cultural space
where the contact of different ethnic groups can create both positive and negative dynamics in society.
This article attempts to analyze interethnic relations in this context, identifying their features and risks.
The forms, types and levels of interethnic relations are described, and attention is also drawn to the
problem of interethnic conflict. The main factors influencing the development of this conflict are also
discussed. The relevance of studying the features of the development of interethnic relations in the
Western border zone of Kazakhstan is shown. The main research method is a questionnaire survey
conducted in the West Kazakhstan region. The need for further study of this topic is shown. The
conclusions presented in this article may be of interest to researchers dealing with issues of interethnic
interaction, as well as specialists of government bodies involved in the implementation of state
ethnopolitics.
