THE ACTIVITIES OF TURAR RYSKULOV AND THE MUSULMAN BUREAU OF THE TURKESTAN REGION

The article highlights the activities of the famous statesman and politician Turor Riskulov as the head of the Turkestan regional Muslim bureau. It is written on the basis of archival documents, periodical materials, as well as the works of T.Riskulov and objectively and truthfully describes the political events that took place in Turkestan in 1919-1920. The archive of the Office of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan contains documents (minutes of meetings, certificates, messages, etc.) covering
the activities of the Muslim Bureau of the Turkestan region in 1919 - 1920. The protocols of the regional bureau of Muslim organizations are present in the array of these documents.The Muslim Bureau of the Turkestan Region in its activities sought to attract national communists and non-partisan local population, in particular the working people and the poor, to work in institutions of Soviet power, to bring the Soviet government and the local population closer, to soften the colonization policy of the Bolsheviks, to limit the activities of the Turkestan Commission sent from the Kremlin (Turkcomission). Thanks to the work of the Muslim Bureau, representatives of the parties of the Young Bukharians and Young Ukrainians, as well as the Jadids (progressives), intensified their activities simultaneously with the local communists.
