Electricity is a form of energy generated by the movement of electrical charges and is one of the most versatile and convenient forms of energy available in modern society.It plays a crucial role in all spheres of life and the economy, from home consumption to industrial production.The article examines the structure of the energy sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also considers the views of economists on the role of energy in the economy.The types of energy resources were also described.The indicators of the electric power industry of the Turkestan region for the period 2018-2022 were analyzed.The main problems of electricity consumption in the region were considered.An analysis of the current state of the energy industry of the region was carried out, a review of projects for the current and prospective period was conducted.Taking into account the characteristics of the region, recommendations were given for the rational use of energy resources.
