This article examines the impact of the Jadid movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries on the formation of the national education system within Kazakh society and the territory inhabited by the Kazakh people from historical-linguistic and pedagogical perspectives. The study explores the preconditions for the emergence of Jadidism and analyzes its function as an educational, cultural, and spiritual instrument within the context of colonial assimilation policies. Particular attention is
paid to the influence of the movement on the Kazakh intelligentsia, especially on the worldview and educational stance of Akhmet Baitursynuly. The aim of the article is to provide a comprehensive analysis of Baitursynuly’s efforts to develop a model of national schooling, substantiate the principle of mothertongue instruction, reform the Kazakh writing system, and systematize educational materials within the framework of Jadidist ideas. The paper also elucidates the scholar’s position toward colonial educational policy and demonstrates how Jadid principles were aligned with the national interests and cultural
specificities of Kazakh society. The findings substantiate that Jadidism became a significant historical factor in the educational and spiritual advancement of Kazakh society, while Baitursynuly’s activity constituted a strategic intellectual phenomenon that laid the foundations for a national philosophy of education.
