Abstract

This article examines private theaters as a significant phenomenon in contemporary cultural entrepreneurship and the creative economy. The historical and socioeconomic preconditions for the emergence of private theaters were analyzed. The operating characteristics of independent theaters in a market environment were identified. Using theoretical and empirical methods, the author examined management models, self-financing mechanisms, repertoire policies, and audience interactions. The experimental section analyzes examples from the theaters ARTiSHOK (Almaty), Teatro 360 (Astana), and Shymkent City Theatre (Shymkent). The results of the study confirmed that private theaters play an important role in the development of cultural policy in Kazakhstan, shaping a space for social dialogue and fulfilling an educational mission. They also demonstrate that private theaters are becoming platforms for the introduction of innovative forms of theatrical art and digital technologies, strengthening ties between culture and business. The findings showed that private theaters are not only creative associations but also active participants in the creative economy, ensuring the sustainable development of national culture based on the principles of self-governance, initiative, and cultural entrepreneurship.
