Abstract

The article examines the educational potential of studying national figures in history lessons based on E. Bekmakhanov’s scholarly legacy. The purpose of the study is to define the methodological value of his works in developing students’ historical consciousness, civic responsibility and value-based understanding of the past. The study uses hermeneutic, comparative and methodological analysis. Special attention is given to the image of Kenesary Kassymuly in E. Bekmakhanov’s research and its interpretation in modern school history education. The article shows that historical personality study should not be limited to factual memorization. It can support students’ critical thinking, academic integrity and civic position through text analysis, discussion questions, moral dilemmas, deconstruction and role play. The proposed approach allows E. Bekmakhanov’s legacy to be used as a methodological resource in history teaching.
