The article presents a retrospective analysis of the problem of formation emotional intelligence of adolescent children. Formation and development emotional intelligence is considered as one of the effective approaches and solutions prevention and overcoming educational difficulties in adolescence. An analysis is provided research works of foreign and domestic scientists on the problem of development emotional intelligence and learning difficulties among adolescent student categories. Based on the analysis and generalization of works on the problem, a conclusion is made regarding the need for targeted pedagogical efforts to develop emotional intelligence of adolescents in order to prevent and overcome educational difficulties. Revealed socio-psychological prerequisites and features of the development of emotional intelligence teenage children. Key elements of teenagers’ emotional intelligence are clarified, their brief characteristics are given. The structure of teenagers’ emotional intelligence is also given. The factor of the relationship between the development of teenagers’ emotional intelligence has been determined and prevention and overcoming difficulties in education.
