Abstract

The use of visual images in historiography and teaching is especially important.In the curriculapreparedin recentyears, emphasis is placed on visual materials and the use of visual sources is recommended in teaching history topics.This study was developed in order to create a theoretical framework for the use of visual images, which are the oldest means of communication and historical source of mankind, in the teaching of history.The purpose of the study is to introduce visual effects in the teaching of history from a theoretical and practical point of view.The study examined the contribution of visual images to the teaching of history and the writing of history, especially since the beginning of the twentieth century, which have influenced all spheres of society's life and are widely used in all branches of the Social Sciences.

Over the past 30 years, interest in visuals, especially qualitative research, has grown significantly thanks to its contribution to understanding people's living conditions. We know that a fairly wide range of films, photographs, cartoons, visual images in the form of graffiti, maps, diagrams, signs strongly surround human life.
